Welcome back to Orchard Farms for the 2009-2010 school year. Mr. Antonio and his crew have the building sparkling and ready for our students. Teachers have spent many hours readying their classrooms with many new materials…and locations. The K, 1, and 2 classrooms are now located in the library media wing; the grade 3 and 4 classrooms are in the center wing; and the 5th and 6th grades are in the north wing.
We had to wait a little longer this year but summer is finally here…and then we had to wait out the rain and now its here. I hope that you are planning some fun summer activities and keeping busy.
This year at Orchard Farms was very successful. In my first year as principal, I am overjoyed with our accomplishments. The students did a great job with both academic and behavior and they should be proud of their accomplishments. The school again was ranked as high performing.
It is hard to believe that we are down to our last 4+ weeks of school but it’s true and it is very busy. Most subjects in classes have entered their last unit of study. Though it is the final unit, it is not any less important. Students must maintain their hardy level of effort to be successful. This is not the time to level off but the time to finish well.
The schedule of events over the next few weeks is very demanding. In an effort to showcase our students to allow them a chance to perform, there are many events scheduled and important dates to keep in mind.
Dear Parents & Students of Orchard Farms:
Here we are with third quarter report cards going out Wednesday and the fourth quarter underway. I met with the students this morning and reminded them to set lofty goals for the fourth quarter and finish the year strong. Also, IOWA tests begin April 21st for 2nd through 5th graders so it is imperative that they come to school rested and prepared.
The Orchard Farms staff, students, and community have reason to be proud of their school. Outside, the aesthetics of the building are wonderful. Inside, there is a feeling of community and caring. The staff demonstrates their willingness to assist every student to achieve at the highest levels and the proof of our effort continues to roll in.
